Saha Community

We are a Bengali trading class who often add 'Saha' to their names. Other surnames such as Poddar, Roy Chowdhury, Chowdhury, Sikder, Sarker, Bhowmik, Das, Mallick and Majumder are also used by us. We are regarded as a highly educated caste which has made valuable contributions to Bengali language and literature.
